How I Use It
This product is great for allowing students to create and be creative when retelling a story or presenting information. I used this with my students when they were to create a "How To". One in particular was a "how to" on being safe online. We had just finished our CommonSense Digital Citizenship training and the students needed to create a storyboard of a scenario to show me what they had learned. They could choose from any of the areas we had talked about, for example, cyberbullying ( class favorite) and explaining what it means to leave a digital footprint.
My Take
I thought this was a great way for the students to express what they had really learned that wasn't just a "presentation" of slides. They not only created scenarios, but got to personalize the scenes and manipulate the characters to how they wanted. They really enjoyed their experience with this product and I enjoyed looking at what they had created, rather then watching slides. It does take a minute to get used to the controls, but once you do, it is a beneficial, creative tool for the students to express themselves. It also, in this activity, creates dialog within the class as to how the "story" could have ended differently.
