How I Use It
Storyboard that has been used in many different classrooms in our school. This is a great program to use for book reports, timelines, understand Science concepts, vocabulary, and much, much, more! The first grade class read the books Amelia Bedila. When they were done they created a comic strip of their own version of Amelia Bedelia following the same format as the book. My third graders chose one digital safety rule and designed a comic strip that explained that rule to their audience. My fifth graders created a comic strip explaining what would happen if one consumer died from a food chain. Another way to use this program is as a way to teach vocabulary for different subjects. The site does take some time to understand how it works and how you save or download a comic strip. There are a lot of small features that a first grader may not understand how to do, but by third grade they are able to do it with ease.
I really like this tool. It is a great tool to have students apply what they have learned in a creative way. No matter what level you are at you will be able to use this application to synthesize your learning and produce a product. The students are very engaged when they are working on this program because of how easy it is to operate and how much fun they are having designing their comic. Storyboard That can be used in centers, as individual work, or as a whole class assignment. I highly recommend this program! I think the ways you can use this in your classroom are endless!
