How I Use It
I used this site with my interactive white board to create books with my special education students. We worked in small groups and each person took turns finding pictures for the book. The whole group then worked together to write something about the story. We edited the sentences together for grammar, punctuation and spelling. It was truly a group effort and the students were so excited to see their finished products. We included their books as part of their student led conferences by allowing them to bring their parents in to see the books on the interactive white board. Parents were very impressed.
I like this as a teaching tool because there are numerous packages of artwork to choose from. The students can write their own books and illustrate them as they go. There is an editing feature and you can have the students proofread and revise their work as needed. I do wish the students could print their stories but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Also, the teacher needs to look at the student books before they are published since there are no editing features included in the program.
