How I Use It
Socrative is one of my go-to tools for assessing my students' current understanding on a topic. It is very simple for students to log into and setting up quizzes doesn't take long on the teacher end of things. There are so many different question types and game modes that you can use when trying to design an effective assessment. I also love that you can decide if you want the quiz to be student-paced or teacher paced. Another feature that Socrative has that you won't find on most other assessment platforms is the ability for students to vote on responses. Using this feature you can easily get a picture on what students think or feel about a certain topic.
Overall, Socrative is one of the most robust digital formative assessment tools out there. The ability to ask many different question types, play different game modes and have students vote on responses gives you many ways to assess student understanding. Features that are available elsewhere and are still missing from Socrative are draggable slide questions and video questions. It would be great to see those added.
