How I Use It
I use Socrative regularly in my classroom. Most often, I use the quiz option, though there are also quick question, 'space race' (game), and exit ticket options. I might throw up a question that has many possible answers; then, when students have entered their responses, open the answers so students can see what others have written (generally I set names to 'anonymous' for this quiz). Once the answers are revealed, students can vote on the best responses. Consider implications for text evidence, writing, interpretation of evidence, etc.
This can be a powerful teaching tool. I have found that the 'voting' option helps students judge both their own and others' responses. I like that I can download the responses & look at them later while I'm planning reteaching.
