How I Use It
I love to use this app/website for checking for understand as I teach. If I have prepared a quiz ahead of time, students can compete in teams to complete it. Each student responds individually, but each answer contributes to a team score. As correct answers are submitted, that team's rocket moves forward on the screen for the class to watch. It is highly engaging! I also use quick questions at the end of class as an exit ticket and use the "vote" option to have students enter a response and then vote on the most specific and thorough response.
Since it is free and easy to use, there aren't any obstacles to using it in the classroom. I use it daily to have students show what they are learning. The immediate feedback allows me to keep a pulse on class understanding, while giving students the ability to respond at their own level. Advanced learners have the option to explain their thinking thoroughly, while struggling learners can provide as much information as they are capable of adding. I don't have to wait for the test to see who understood the material, but instead can provide immediate scaffolding and differentiation. I love using this app!
