How I Use It
I use it both as an online tool and a formative assessment technique to give students immediate information about whether they are meeting a learning target we've been going over in class. It's much more engaging when it's an ungraded formative assessment that we discuss afterward and students know that the feedback is simply for them to know where they are in relation to mastering a learning target.
My Take
I think the review for the app is valid wherein you get what you give. If you use this as an online quiz app to reduce grading time, that's what it will be. However, it's capable of so much more. If you thoughtfully put together an assessment and enable students to see whether they are getting answers right or wrong it can be a valuable assessment tool for both the teacher and the students because there's no lag between assessment and feedback. Students know instantly whether they are on track or whether they need to adjust their understanding. It's especially valuable if you add an explanation about why the right answer is right and the other answers are wrong.
