How I Use It

In my 1st, 3rd and 4th grade classes I used socrative as a literacy center. I would make practice problems for the weekly skill. Students could take the "test" several times for practice. When they missed a question, I had feedback to guide the student back to the right answer. From my iphone and while in small group reading, I could monitor the grade the student received and could do a quick mini-lesson for students who did not master the skill.

My Take

The tool itself does not teach; however, a teacher can use this tool for teaching. The teacher makes a quiz-like activity. Students can take one at a time or as a whole group and receive immediate feedback. The teacher can program the feedback to 'reteach' if a question is missed. There are several question formats.

An online quiz or an interactive learning center is the power of socrative.
