How I Use It
Schoology allows for an educator to put assignments, instructions, discussions, and quizzes all together in one place where students are able to access it as well. Students are engaged in tasks and assessments and allows for a student to further their knowledge on a skill. Students will learn time management and the importance of finishing a lesson in order to move on to the next section to complete a course.
This teaching tool is useful because it keeps classes separated. Students can navigate the module freely or in order of what is presented. As an educator, Schoology is a great place for professional development and professional learning communities to share ideas. I think the students would have to spend a day or two understanding how Schoology works before an assignment is given to them on Schoology, so they know how to navigate the system. Students can work at their own pace in order to finish a unit, and since it is online, students can work on anything within the module anytime they have wifi. Students can work together to solve problems and Schoology allows for a different teaching style other than a teacher lecturing and then students doing worksheets.
