How I Use It
I work with teachers a lot on Schoology and how to use it in the classroom, so I use Schoology to store and share resources. I use the discussion boards, assignments, assessments, gradebook, media albums and updates with teachers. I would e-mail parents from Schoology if I had students. I align standards to everything I do, so I can track mastery of those standards. I embed presentations and videos in Schoology. I use the calendar to keep track of assignments. I share resources with teachers. The only thing that I think needs improvement is the rubric feature. I would like to be able to share common rubrics and track mastery through saved rubrics.
I love all that Schoology can do. It's easy for teachers and students to use, and can do pretty much anything you want it to do for you. It makes life easier for the teacher- especially when using the rubrics. I can hear from ALL students during a discussion, and the conversations go deeper than ever. My district has the enterprise version, so grades in Schoology push to our SIS, which is fantastic. The use of grading groups makes differentiation very easy. It merges well with Google Drive, which I like as well. I just can't say enough great things about Schoology. It's a one-stop shop for teachers, students, and parents.
