How I Use It
This website has documents that can be used to teach history in an enhanced way. There are actual letters of correspondence to enhance student understanding of what transpired that caused us to pull away and seek our own form of government. One lesson is designed to show various viewpoints of Colonial Americans and the effects of taxation on them.
My Take
I do wish that it was more entertaining or colorful, but still, it takes on aspects of the Revolutionary War that are not covered in textbooks. I do believe students will obtain a better understanding of what caused the war and why Colonial Americans stood up for themselves and were willing to become independent no matter the cost. We gain some insight on the Stamp Act and concepts of taxation through these lessons as well.
