How I Use It
I just started using Remind 101 this year. Since I wasn't sure how it worked, I did not make it mandatory for my parents, but next year I will. I loved the fact that I could use the website from my desktop, or even send/schedule reminders to be sent out using my iPhone/iPad. Throughout this year, Remind 101 has made significant improvements, now allowing you to send reminders to only certain students and also to attach documents as well! I use this website/app to send out reminders about tests/quizzes, permission slips, important homework, special events at school, and basically anything else that I want to remind the students/parents about. This worked like a charm all year and I never had one single issue with it!
My Take
I love this product, and I love that they even made changes to update it through the year that I have been using it. That tells me that the creators are listening and making changes to best meet the needs of educators. I would love to maybe have my students who do have smart devices to sign up next year so that they can get the reminders as well. The parents loved it too! Even though I constantly send out emails to communicate with my the parents in my classroom, the parents commented that they liked the short messages being sent straight to their devices, and didn't have to sign on and open up emails to get a quick reminder. It really has served my teaching better by being able to quickly remind students/parents of certain things making things alot easier. I really loved this product and plan on using it for years to come in my classroom!
