How I Use It
In my fifth grade classroom, RM City was our core math this year. My students enjoyed the program and the fact that it was set up like a video game. They enjoyed that it was different from any math they had experienced before. Students are responsible for their own learning with teacher intervention as needed. This aspect worked very well for self driven learners. Students that are not self driven must be encouraged, but all my students eventually became comfortable with the program.
What I like about the program is the constant support that was given to my through RM. They wanted to make sure I understood the program and could use the data to best help my students. My students were also responsible for a notebook which documents their daily work. The program can be adjusted to student's abilities and tutoring was given to students that needed help on objectives.
RM city was a positive experience was for students and for myself.
I enjoyed the program and was a great teaching tool for my students and myself.
