How I Use It
In class, students will use ReadTheory when they are finished with an assignment. Students can work independently on these passages to see whether they are reading/answering questions on grade level. Their scores are only shared between the teacher and themselves. Passages are interesting and ranges from informational to narrative. Now they include free responses as well.
As stated before, this product is used only to scaffold or re-teach. I would not use this product as the sole tool for my instruction. Students can work on a specific standard or skill and see whether that goal is being met. Teachers can quickly gather the data to see who is meeting grade level standards. Great for conferences and another insight on your student's reading ability.
