How I Use It
I use this for everything literacy. I can't stress how helpful this website is, you can have leveled books, worksheets, lesson plans, phonics practice, fluency practice, all at your fingertips. There are more than tens of books at every reading level and they are quite engaging and run the gamut on subject matter. I use it to print out homework books, homework/class activities, ready made guided reading lessons, substitute materials, fluency passages to send home and use in class, and so much more. It's basically your own library...if you have a sweet printing set up. So if you can't print a lot, then this website becomes drastically less useful, you can project books for a class read aloud, but that's about all the functionality without printing. So before you go in and spend the money, make sure you can print a lot.
This really is a priceless tool, it is literally my most used resource. I am constantly printing out class sets of books and making class/home work from this site. It is such a boon to anyones literacy instruction. I can't stress enough that printing is a huge issue, that being said their "RAZ kids" sections allows students to practice online without printing, but also costs more. If you have unlimited printing capabilities, you can't go wrong with "RAZ". I can't say I want to see anything more from this website, because it is honestly perfect for what it is, content is high quality, activities are diverse, and it focuses on all areas of literacy.
