How I Use It
I have used Raz-Kids for extra practice, guided reading, and even as an informal running record for my students. With the ability to have the students record their reading you can access it at anytime to assess them on their fluency. The program (after level aa) gives the students a quiz after every book to help gauge their comprehension. The one thing I do not like is the sometimes complex teacher names that the students use to log on and the teacher interface is not as simple as it should be (good luck trying to easily change the auto generated passwords)
As a teaching tool I think this is a great supplement. At the lower levels I feel that there should be a greater variety of books since the early reading levels are the most important in my opinion. This is a great tool for students that can't always go to the library and may or may not have a computer at home because it is mobile friendly! I just wish you could save books for offline use like MyOn.
