How I Use It
I used the Quill to develop the students ability to respond to tasks in writing. I allocated time in class for the diagnostic and then assigned tasks to them for homework. Its easy to keep track of their attempts at completing the tasks as the software provides reports on their progress.
I also found that I could easily assign further tasks based on their progress - thus creating individualised homework, rather than generic one-size-fits-all tasks.
The students seem to respond well to the tasks and the concept of working online - a definite bonus as I don't need to nag and cajole them into doing their work.
As a newbie user, I find the interface difficult to use intuitively. I made quite a number of false starts before I could find my way around. Some kind of hover-help would be really useful or even a 5-steps to complete guide.
