How I Use It
I teach a classroom of multiple age groups and ability levels. I rotate the students throughout the day, and one of the stations is independent work on computers. I was looking for engaging language arts programs for this station. I found quill.org and, along with readtheory.org, students practice reading comprehension and writing skills. This allows me to focus on small group instruction while feeling GREAT that students are learning. Quill is easy to differentiate, and the students don't want to get off of it!
This program is versatile in that it can be used as independent work, small group or whole group instruction. In group discussion, students learn from successes and failures while arguing over how to find all the mistakes in a reading selection! My only criticism is I wish there was more content. Thank you quill for a great product :)
