How I Use It
Prezi offers a visual tool that allows for a more interactive "slide show." I used this tool for several years with students on concepts that involved cause and effect or a more visual identification, such as plot diagrams, understanding geography on a map, mapping a characters route throughout a novel, and a biomes project that required them to label climates zones and zoom into their biome. The concept behind it and the zooming feature was great for these things. This really does add to depth of understanding. Recently, it has become harder for students to create accounts and get confirmation emails.
My Take
Over the years, Prezi has made it more difficult to have students create projects. First, and EDU account requires verification, so the process of getting students registered is not instantaneous as it once was. While you can register students yourself, it is time consuming. Secondly, some previously free features are now paid. Collaboration with multiple students on a single project is a critical feature for me, and that is no longer available in the free version.
