How I Use It
Prezi is a great tool to use with all levels of students. The 3D and movement between slides or points is highly engaging. I have used Prezi to present academic terms, reinforce ideas from previous discussions, and for small group work. Sometimes the movement between slides was tricky and faltered a bit. But that could be user-error because Prezi can move in a non-linear way, unlike PowerPoint which is very linear in movement. That didn't seem to deter my students from using Prezi though.
I like that this is an online tool. It's easily accessible at school (as long as the network isn't down!) and at home. I like the desktop option as well. I enjoyed created a presentation much more with Prezi than with PowerPoint or Keynote. It forced me to create presentations in a non-linear fashion, which is hard to do after years of using PowerPoint. I like the 3D zooming feature and the kids enjoy that as well. I wouldn't say that this is the end-all be-all PowerPoint replacement product. But it's a good tool to use to keep kids focused on making a presentation either on their own or with their peers.
