How I Use It
Students use Prezi for presenting information to their peers. I use this with 6th to 8th grade students during each six week rotation. Prezi gives students power to build presentations out of the box other applications do not offer and builds excitement to try something new. The only negative is that students focus on appearance and sometimes neglect content for the presentation.
As a part of my class, I develop communication skills for my middle school students. They usually roll their eyes when I mention presentation tools until they realize I do not limit them to the "standard" for presenting. Prezi gives them an alternative, current tool with a features that promote creativity. The highlight of the product is the freedom to create a look that mimics the student’s vision for a presentation. This blank “slate” contributes to inventiveness for each individual.
