How I Use It
I incorporate this into one of the presentation project. It did take a little bit of time to set up and teach the students different way to make a Prezi, as most of them are used to making powerpoints. Not all of the students have powerpoint at home, but since this is online, it is great, so that everyone who has a computer online can have access to it. The layout is similar to Graphic Organizer and helps the students to figure out the sequence of the presentation and drop it where they want it. It is easy to use, easy to create and a great tool for the students to have for the future presentations. Students were slow to start, but once they figured out how to use it, they were into getting the content and trying to figure out how to make it fancy and cool. The presentations ended up to be great, showing creativity along side and great tool to assist them to deliver the content as well.
Prezi is a great tool for the students to learn. It is available for free (can paid for extra) to the students. It is saved online at Prezi, so that even when the students work at the shared school computer, they can access it the same way at home. It helps them make presentations that are animated and attractive easily. Students can use this in their other classroom as well to do presentations. It allows students to collaborate as well. Prezi is stable and online and have plenty of preset for the students to start with. The movement in the slides, from zooming in and out, panning left and right, they help to capture the audience, unlike flipping from slide to slide in powerpoint. And the good part is, it is not complicated to make the transition. It helps the students to present better and obtain more skills along the way.
