How I Use It
I introduced my 5th and 6th graders to Prezi a few weeks ago, and let them explore with my guidance. Many students felt that it was more versatile than a traditional PowerPoint, and are eager to use it again. Students created presentations that ranged from simple to complex, and were engaged for almost 2 full 45 minute class periods.
I took a constructivist approach to "teaching" Prezi, simply giving students the site address and my login information. (Student accounts cannot be created without emails. I opened an account and students can sign in from various locations, however each presentation can only be opened at one location.) I let students explore, and helped them along the way. Initially, my students were uncomfortable with this, but they soon were able to dive into the program and create fantastic presentations. It would be much better if it allowed for a teacher account and associated student accounts, however I was able to find a way to work around that.
