How I Use It
I used Prezi for my fifth grade classes in the media center. They were working on persuasive writing. They research a topic they felt passionate about using the VRC such as cell phones should be allowed in school or there should be no homework in school. Then they had to show the pros and cons of the topic and find facts, quotes and evidence to back up their thesis statements. The students were presenting their projects to their parents, so they used Prezi to put their data into. The program was engaging, although students who were not computer savvy did have difficulty. It was so great to use because the students could work on the project anywhere they had access to a computer and Internet. Many of the premade templates also lend themselves well to persuasive pieces.
Although a little more complicated than PowerPoint to navigate and learn how to use, Prezi is much more high-tech, aesthetically pleasing and will captivate viewers of a presentation with its swift movements and panning in and out!
