How I Use It
I have my students brainstorm, pre-think, and organize their ideas with Popplet. I demo the use of popplet in class when we are brainstorming ideas or organizing thoughts. I require the use for 1 assignment and then I let student choose whichever app/website they want to do the work. Many choose popplet again because they like the ability to change colors of the boxes and the background. They also like how it neatly arranges items and ideas.
Popplet is a great app/website for brainstorming and to begin thinking about a topic. It is easy to upload pictures, links and to draw in the popples to organize thoughts and ideas. My students were engaged and liked being able to use the App. We used the free App in class and my students take pictures of their finished work and then delete their work so they can make multiple popplets. It is annoying that it does not have a spell check, but I do not use this app for final products but rather initial idea gathering and organization so that is not a huge concern for that stage of the learning.
