How I Use It
PollEverywhere is a fun way to foster engagement during mini lectures, as openers and exit tickets, as well as during team project work time to gauge where students are in a quick visual way that holds the whole class accountable. Student teams have also used this tool during their own final presentations to increase audience engagement.
There is the risk of poor digital etiquette responses popping up if you choose to do free response, so make sure you have norms established or do not use the free response choice since it allows responders to remain anonymous.
I like the simplicity of this tool for quick feedback and assessment during an interactive lecture. I also like it as an exit ticket that saves paper. A next step to improve this tool would be an option to not allow for anonymity, but rather require responders to attach their name to their vote/response.
