How I Use It
After viewing this site I plan on using it in my classroom this fall. This site offers a large number of resources to help supplement any lesson/topic I plan on teaching. For example when I work on introducing the underground railroad I can find a video or document to help add to the lesson. This takes away from me lecturing the whole time and gives the students a chance to be more engaged and wanting to learn. With the large number of topics on this site I can see myself using this across all subject areas with my main focus on science and social studies.
I really liked this site and what it has to offer. I like that it isn't just videos, but documents and interactive links among others. In addition you can search by topic, collection, standard or grade level. You then can further narrow down your selection to what exactly you are looking for....for example a video. One thing I did struggle with was the amount of time I spent on the site. It's not because it was hard to navigate but because I got carried away looking for resources. This site is geared more towards teacher use than student use.
