How I Use It
I have used PBS Learning Media when putting together collections of digital resources for teachers by topic or unit, as part of my job as a technology integrator. I always encourage teachers to create their own accounts as well, so that they can save videos to their own "favorites" for quick location and use later. I especially like to use the video clips to reinforce and demonstrate Science concepts and experiments to younger students. Favorites include "Sid the Science Kid" for the Kindergarten students, and "Zoom" and "ZoomSci" experiments/videos for students in later Elementary grades. Interactives from Nova are also great to reinforce concepts to Upper Elementary students and above.
My Take
Some of the best educational media resources are created by PBS and its affiliates. This web site pulls the best of the best together, and indexes individual videos, clips, interactives, lesson plans, and activities by type, grade level, subject area, and more. A great benefit is that, depending on the usage rights of the video or interactive, some can be downloaded onto a computer for offline use.
