How I Use It
I have found that this tool works best when introduced either for independent responses outside of class or for submissions of smaller final products, given the polished look of posts. The overall student experience is made or broken based on the quality of student responses, which can be infectious or dangerous in a whole class setting if students are taking their free response opportunity seriously. The former has happened when students were submitting final projects for poems, and were increasingly enthusiastic about the visually professional look their products had as they viewed other submissions being posted around them.
Padlet in itself serves its purpose well, and can be an effective and visually engaging tool for student discussion and content submission. The free response nature requires that students have a good understanding of the quality and purpose behind the posts they are about to make, which can help create a very interactive technology experience.
