How I Use It
Padlet is an excellent tool to foster discussion, promote collaboration, or even complete homework assignments. I often use Padlet as a way to increase participation because it allows students to participate in a way that works best for them. For example, students can type a response or attach documents, pictures, videos, or audio files. I love using it as a formative assessment tool, where students can complete activities like 3-2-1's and other mini assessments.
This is the perfect tool for fostering discussion and collaboration. As Marshall McLuhen once stated, "the medium is the message." This tool provides students with options on how they demonstrate their understanding of a topic, discussion question or assignment. The tool is extremely easy to use for both teachers and students. I also like that this tool is device agnostic, meaning it can be used across multiple platforms. Sharing your Padlet can be a little challenging in mobile environments. You can customize your URL, but the site does not provide you a QR Code to share with students. This would be a nice add.
