How I Use It
Padlet has been used for brainstorming as well as assessment in the classroom. Students were given a prompt or a question. It worked great if you are brainstorming ideas. One example I used in was character traits. I asked students to describe a character with one word and their response needed to be different from others. When the activity was completed, I was able to save the information to use later with students as suggestions for character traits.
For informal assessments, Padlet gives me an overview of how well students understand concepts. Students are able to share ideas, links to websites, photos and videos with the class. The versatility of this web-based application is endless.
Padlet is easy to use in the classroom since you share the link with students. I have also used it at workshops as an ice breaker. There are many uses depending on your content area and need. It is user-friendly for students and offers immediate connection with others. I have suggested this application to new staff when they need more engagement in the classroom as well as an easy assessment tool.
