How I Use It
This website allows you to create "walls" that the students/class can interact with. After creating a user id the teacher can create as many walls as they would like. Once you make a wall you can customize the URL. You will share URL to anyone you would like to see and work with the wall. You can customize your wall with fun colors and background. By clicking anywhere on the page you can create a text box, you can add a picture, link, or document to any box. I have used this in my classroom a couple of times now. It has been helpful in having the students create a centralized location for information for a group project. The students completed a survey and all of the information was able to be seen immediately.
My Take
I really liked this site. I liked that the kids did not need a user id to be able to add information. It made putting information together really easy. The kids liked being able to see and edit their information. And it was easy to put the URL link out so that the kids could work from home or go back and see their information later. I will use this again in the future! One thing to keep in mind is to keep the kids on "write mode" and not "moderate mode" this way what they post needs to be approved before it is posted to the wall. Another way to use this tool is to have a couple of moderators for the wall. Only the students who are designated as moderators are able to write on the wall, that way the wall does not get too messy.
