How Can Teachers Use It?

NRICH's Upper Secondary – Developing as Mathematicians module is a challenging set of math activities designed to prepare kids for higher-level coursework. Activities are organized by process skills rather than learning standards, so it takes some extra search time to find activities related to specific content areas. Skills include working systematically, visualizing, representing, modeling, making conjectures, justifying, proof, and more. Your more advanced students will benefit from individual work here, so use the activities as homework or extra credit assignments. Students in your class who aren't as advanced are best completing the activities in small groups. Alternately, you can use any of the activities here for whole-class instruction, as opportunities arise to help your students brush up on their process skills. Note that some of these activities require additional materials, so plan accordingly.
