How I Use It
This site offered something the others I investigated didn't....the weekly challenge. They had a weekly problem that the students could try and then showed not only the solution but how to solve it as well. I really liked this because it is definitely something you could use in the classroom. Even if you couldn't get the students to log on you could use the problem in your classroom by accessing it together. It also has an area where it gives the students a problem, shows them how to start it and then lets them check their answer by showing the solution. I like this because you can assign in class work and have students use this site.
My Take
Overall this isn't a bad site to use. One problem I did have was that it was hard to navigate. I like things quick and easy and this was not that. It does have good resources for teachers like worksheets and links to other resources. I also like the weekly challenge problem that they give. It's a great opportunity for students to access at home and come in with their results. This site helps with teaching by giving multiple ideas for instruction and with the set-up that shows students a problem, how to start it and then the correct answer. It's a great tool to help reinforce what they've learned.
