How I Use It
WOW, this program is GREAT! It engaged ALL my students -- from the avid writers to the reluctant ones. I first joined Night Zookeeper as a free trial during their March writing contest. In just three weeks, my 3rd grade students wrote over 100,000 words! They were motivated by the contest, of course, but they just loved the interactiveness, creating characters, and writing in all genres. I love that there are many already created lessons you can assign... and also you can create your own. Also, students can give feedback to each other through 'comments'.
My Take
I hope Night Zookeeper continues to be noticed in the US (based out of the UK)... there is so much potential. Kids who already love writing will be engaged by this, but I think it's even more important that it engages our struggling writers as well.
