How I Use It

I used Newsela all the time last year. The shining start of the product was how I could easily adjust the reading level so I immediately had diverse reading material. I found that the activities which are just quizzes and a sparse question weren't really deep but it was a great resource for a quick comprehension quiz. The stories are always interesting and fun and not too long. I also liked using them for homework.

My Take

I went to use it today and found it very unwieldy and hard to use as an ELA teacher. I want to be able to practice targeted skills and since they took the reading skill search away from free accounts, I won't be using it anymore which is a shame because I loved it.
