Newsela is a great way to get my whole resource reading class involved.

How I Use It

I love using Newsela with my resource reading class. In my class, I have students on a spectrum of reading levels. My students range from a 3rd grade reading and comprehension level to a 7th grade reading level as well at ELLs. With Newsela, I break my students by reading levels into 3-4 groups. The students can then read the article together and discussion it in their group. As a class, we can answer questions and talk about what we read. My students never know that they were given different articles!
