How I Use It
This site can be used with students to help them review math concepts. Words are easy to find by clicking on a letter or subject to search for the math word. Students can locate definitions, formulas, pictures, diagrams, tables, and sometimes examples. There is no real interaction with the content. Students will not come away with a deeper understanding of a math concept. However, the site could be helpful for students, parents, and teachers as a way to refresh their memory of a math word or topic. It can also be used to help compare and contrast a math word or formula.
My Take
Mathwords should not be utilized as a teaching tool, but can be used to reference a specific math word or concept. It wasn't designed to be an interactive site, but more of an informative site for reference and quick explanations. It will be necessary to use other resources in order to practice math skills and gain a better understanding of math concepts.
