How I Use It
I worked with a group of students at a Math Snacks summer camp. This was the third year that I worked with the summer camp. Many of the students were returning to camp because they enjoyed the previous years. We followed the protocols on mathsnacks.org about how to use the games. After playing the games, the students ability to talk about the math concepts really improved. We also used some of the suggested bonus activities. The activities really supported the math concepts. During the camp we did not experience any challenges with the games crashing. I've played the games myself on a mac and a pc and did not have any problems on either.
The Math Snacks games are great tools for helping teach particular topics that students consistently struggle with. In order to get the most out of the games I recommend using the protocols on mathsnacks.org. The students find the games engaging and seem to develop a better understanding of the math concepts.
