How I Use It
I use it to strengthen key concepts of math. They will be learning a math concept, and I will have them play some games to get them started, then I head back to the class to work through the concepts as a class. In the middle of the unit, I'll head back to the computer lab, where they play some of the challenges. When the unit is finished, they will always want to go back on it, so I take them in and let them have some 'free' time to play the games. I use the results in my assessments, and I notice a huge uptake of student involvement from students when they get home, which is all the endorsement I need for this site!
This a fantastic website for teachers to use in their math class. With fun games and challenges set up to the national curriculum, as well as an easy set-up to get you going, this is highly recommended! One of the best features of the site is the that your school can challenge other schools around the world - my class still talk about the time they defeated a school in the UK. A nice feature is that the challenges are set at the different levels of kids learning abilities. At the end of it all, you get a great break-down of your student's achievements.
A brilliant website - try it now!
