How I Use It
I used Wrecks Factor after teaching my students how to factor when a=1. I then used Wrecks Factor for individual practice. Students are given a problem that requires them to factor, and they have to drag their curser over (left and up for positives, and down and backwards for negatives.) to represent the factors. I like this because not only does it practice factoring but it seems to really help the students work with their integers too!
My Take
I love this product. I love it because it meets the students where they are in the learning process. If a student has a lower ability, it won't increase the difficulty of the problems. If a student can master the introductory levels of factoring like when a, b, and c are all positive, then it will have the student try examples where b, and c are negative, slowing increasing the difficulty of the problems. It also will then decrease the time, that you have to complete each problem, developing faster and more efficient skills.
