How I Use It
First, I cannot rate the following because you do not say which is the best rating. Is 1 the best or 5? Engagement Do students want to repeat the experience or do they lose interest quickly? *** This is two different questions with opposite answers. If the students want to repeat the experience then I would rate that as high. However, Do they lose interest quickly? If this is high then the first part is low.**** Pedagogy Does the product build deep understanding or only a superficial survey of content? *****Again you have opposing questions, If the product builds a deep understanding, then I would rate that as high. But if they are only a superficial survey of content then that would be rated as low. Supports Are there resources to extend learning as well as supports for different kinds of learners? *****Since I wasn't sure what was high or low, I answered 3. However, I think it would be rated high. Overall Learning Rating (Required) This score should be a reflection of the three dimensions: Engagement, Pedagogy, Support. *****Again: Since I wasn't sure what was high or low, I answered 3. However, I think it would be rated high. I used this often. I wish we could mix and match all grade levels and objectives. I would like to be able to do this so that I could level my playlists from easiest to hardest. Also I like to have reviews of past lessons built in.
My Take
I do review the games often. Two things I always say must be a part of every game. 1 - ALL games should have all written words read aloud. (option to mute). 2) Check that reading levels are age appropriate. Sometimes the students cannot access the games and I haven't figured out what is wrong... Also, please allow sound to changed in the preview - sometimes the music is so loud I can't think. Can the students be able to find and play games related to different topics? Can students battle each other head to head? Can classes have teams to battle each other? Can classes be made into one team to challenge another class? And could it be done beyond the school walls? Where do you get your science information? Sometimes it isn't right. What type of jobs do you have? :) Thank you for this platform.
