How Can Teachers Use It?

LearnZillion's Geometry lessons target high school Common Core standards by using animated video lessons. As geometry is quite visual, the detailed graphics here really help support the content. Note, however, that three of the six Common Core geometry domains are addressed: Similarity, Right Triangles & Geometry; Circles; and Geometric Measurement & Dimension. While about three-fourths of the standards in these domains are covered, it would be helpful to see more extensive coverage in the future. Furthermore, the lesson commentaries and guided practice problems found in other LearnZillion modules would be a welcome addition.

Use these lessons to reinforce a topic after you've introduced it more formally in class. Use the Assign tool to give students lessons -- have them do a think-pair-share activity as they work. Kids should view the lesson on their own first, then pair up with a partner to share any questions they have. Lastly come together as a class to discuss the lesson and address any remaining questions.
