How I Use It
Some teachers might use LearnZillion vidoes as an extension for individual students and assign them to watch them during or after class. While that application might be most useful for math teachers, in ELA--the subject I teach--I find LZ most useful as a resource for modification of my own lessons. I can look at how other teachers have approached teaching a given standard, text, or skill, and then use some of their lesson resources for my own purposes in my classroom.
LZ lessons are also completely usable as is: a teacher could feasibly just project the lesson made on the board and run through it as the teacher who created it envisioned!
If you need a resource to find a strong lesson developed by a real teacher, LZ is a wonderful source of Common Core aligned lessons. You can steal their worksheets, presentations, and videos to either apply directly as is in your classroom, or modify as you see best for your purposes.
Full disclosure: I've made lessons for LearnZillion, so I'm biased!
