How I Use It
I teach a class of all special education students in both English and Math. This site allows me to assign lessons to my students based on their needs and abilities. While Joe reads at a 5th grade level and Jill reads at an 8th grade level I don't need to assign one lesson I can give them each one where they will work on their skills without it being too easy or leave them frustrated. We've been looking for a site that does just what this one does. I plan on going back and sharing this with the staff so we can collaborate and decide as a team what each student should focus and assign lessons according to that and the IEP goals we want them to achieve. This also helps me to gain data for my IEP goals.
My Take
I love this website. It is set-up to view lessons based on subject, grade level and common core standards. With common core standards taking effect this site will help teachers to cover the needed standards and do so without boring the students. I enjoyed the informative videos that they students watched and like how they geared towards the particular grade level. I also liked that they gave the students the chance to see and hear a story which definitely helps my special education students and also any ELL students. They have both the audio and visual aspect most students need to reinforce learning. Overall this is a site I plan on sharing.
