How I Use It
I used Lalilo during the lockdown due to Covid-19. My students were able to log into Lalilo from home so they could work on phonics, word families, sight words, and reading comprehension. When we are back in the classroom, I plan on using it for my literacy technology station. Since I teach 1st grade, the only thing I had a hard time with was making sure the students only clicked on their name on the main screen. Other than that, everything worked very well.
My overall opinion about this teaching tool is to have it in my classroom every year. It helps the students grow, and I get to see the data on what they accomplished or still need help on. What I loved about the program is it is kind of game like. Students earn badges after a certain amount of questions. This makes Lalilo more engaging and students are wanting to get on it more. A way it could better serve the area where I teach is to have a Spanish side. Our school has several dual language classrooms, so having this program in both English and Spanish would be perfect.
