How I Use It
This was used as a support for my students with math disabilities. To support a current or upcoming unit, I would set a topic for the students to practice. The students would then complete the lessons within that topic during their AIS/Resource time. As the students complete lessons, it gives them points based on the number of questions they get correct. This kept them interested and started a mini competition between them. For the more advanced learners, they could move on from the original topic. Many times this was used when some of the students needed to complete work and the other part of the class needed an activity. A set of practice topics would be selected by me or the supporting teacher and the students could pick and choose based on their levels.
My Take
Although the students were drawn into the practice, some of them found the videos not useful. They moved too fast for them, and did not break down the steps clear enough. For more advanced learners, this would be a good chance for them to dive deeper into a topic. Since this is completed individually, the students could complete at their own pace. My students with disabilities could practice what they needed, without the rest of the class knowing the topic/level. It was a great confidence booster when the students completed a topic.
