How I Use It
Kahoot was a hit when I demoed it for the staff. With a room of 100 people participating, the questions sometimes appeared before participants could respond, so the timing was slightly off, but nothing major. It was by far the number one tool used for reviewing semester exams because it was so easy to use. Most kids questioned the few teachers that chose other methods. It was that engaging.
It is just a tool. However, with good teaching, this is a great tool for assessing what kids know and what they don't. I really like how it award points for correct answers and reveals the leader board after each question (optional) . The video option is really a bonus. Student can track their own understanding while maintaining a competitive spirit as they challenge each other to be first to answer correctly. It's also each to share and find Kahoots that others have made public that may be applicable to your classroom.
