How I Use It
This is our school's first year with a subscription. Teachers can easily assign various levels and skills for all students. Students are given points for correct answers and deductions for errors. One invaluable feature are the explanations students are given when they submit an incorrect answer. Real time feedback is often hard for teachers to find the time to give. For younger students, the questions are read aloud with a click of an icon. A school administrator does need to enter all student names. Teachers then create their own rosters.
IXL is a great practice tool; it should not be used as a teaching tool however. Teachers can easily teach whole or small group lessons, then assign skills for students to practice. The graphics are helpful and not distracting. Reports are emailed to teachers/
