Teacher Review For iCivics

I thought this was a great exercise in seeing civics in motion tying the Constitution to day to day life.

How I Use It
I would use this program in a computer lab setting or as a homework assignment. The exercise/game that icivics uses is engaging yet there is ample time for learning throughout the gameplay. I see this being used at the end of a unit for review or as an introductory "HOOK" to spark interest. The only component I would add is a one page recap of the students' journey throughout and possible student presentation to the class by each classmate. Every student will have a different experience which would lead to different learning experiences. This can be tied into what was either learned in class or what will be learned in the future.
My Take
I really like the tool for kids because it is user friendly and student directed. It could serve students by linking classroom learning with real life situations. I like the easiness of the gameplay but some of the examples tied to the Constitution are easily answered. You may want to come up with tougher examples for classroom conversations to ensure the concepts were learned.
